Classes & Enrollment
We believe that small classes and a small teacher to child ratio are essential to provide a productive environment and to offer individual attention. Each of our three classes has a lead teacher and an assistant teacher.
Enrollment for the 2025-26 School Year will begin soon. Returning families enrollment begins on January 7th and open enrollment will begin January 20th.
HighScope Curriculum
At First United Methodist Preschool (FUMP), we embrace the HighScope Curriculum, fostering a warm and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to become active learners. Inspired by the teachings of Jean Piaget, our approach emphasizes exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences. Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance child-initiated and teacher-directed activities, allowing children to plan, engage, and reflect on their learning. Our dedicated lead teachers and assistant teachers work closely with each child, ensuring individual attention in our small class sizes. We believe that meaningful interactions and a supportive community are essential for social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Registration for preschool classes opens in January prior to the September start of the school year.
A registration form and non-refundable registration fee of $50 are required for each child.
2024-2025 School Year
We currently have the following opening for the current school year: 1 spot in Pre-K
Because openings are subject to change, other class registrations will be placed on a waiting list.
2025-2026 School Year
Registration for current and church families opens January 7, 2025.
Registration for new families opens January 20, 2025.

Tuition & Fees
Financial assistance in the form of scholarships are available for the 2025-2026 school year. You may note whether you would like to be considered for a scholarship on the Enrollment Form.
